Welcome to PixLancer!

PixLancer is an online marketplace connecting people who need photo editing services with talented photo editors. Whether you need quick edits or professional retouching, we make it easy to find the perfect editor for your project.

Creating Your Account

  1. Visit the Registration Page:
    Go to Sign Up or click "Register" in the navigation menu.
  2. Choose Your Email:
    Enter a valid email address. This will be used for login and notifications.
  3. Create a Secure Password:
    Use at least 8 characters with a mix of letters, numbers, and symbols.
  4. Select Your Role:
    Choose whether you want to request edits, become an editor, or both!
  5. Verify Your Email:
    Check your inbox for a verification email and click the confirmation link.
Pro Tip: Use a professional profile picture and complete your bio to build trust with other users!

Setting Up Your Profile

  1. Navigate to Profile Settings:
    Click your username in the top right corner → Profile
  2. Upload a Profile Picture:
    Click "Edit Profile Picture" and upload a clear, professional photo.
  3. Write Your Bio:
    Tell others about yourself! Include your expertise, experience, or what you're looking for.
  4. Add Your Location (Optional):
    Help others know where you're based.
  5. Configure Notification Preferences:
    Go to Email Preferences to control what notifications you receive.

Understanding PixLancer

How does PixLancer work? +

PixLancer connects requesters and editors in a simple 5-step process:

  1. Post: Requesters upload photos and describe their editing needs
  2. Claim: Editors browse requests and claim ones they want to work on
  3. Edit: Editors complete the work and submit it for review
  4. Review: Requesters review the edit and approve or request changes
  5. Pay: Once approved, payment is processed through Stripe
Is PixLancer free to use? +

Creating an account and browsing is completely free. When transactions occur:

  • Platform Fee: $0.25 per transaction
  • Stripe Processing Fee: 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction

All fees are disclosed upfront before payment.

What types of edits can I request? +

You can request almost any type of photo editing:

  • Background removal/replacement
  • Color correction and grading
  • Retouching and blemish removal
  • Object removal or addition
  • Photo restoration
  • And much more!

How to Post an Edit Request

  1. Navigate to New Request:
    Click "Post Request" in the navigation menu or visit New Request
  2. Upload Your Photo:
    Click "Choose File" and select your image (JPG, PNG, or GIF up to 10MB)
  3. Add a Descriptive Title:
    Write a clear title like "Remove background from product photo" or "Retouch family portrait"
  4. Write Detailed Instructions:
    Be specific about what you want! Include:
    • What needs to be changed
    • Color preferences
    • Style or mood
    • Any reference images
  5. Set Your Price:
    Offer fair compensation based on complexity. Simple edits: $3-10, Complex edits: $25+
  6. Set Time Limit (Optional):
    Choose how long editors have to complete your request (default: 2 hours)
  7. Submit Your Request:
    Click "Submit" and your request will appear in the queue for editors to claim!
Pro Tip: The more detailed your instructions, the better results you'll get! Consider uploading a reference image showing the style you want.

Reviewing and Approving Edits

  1. Get Notified:
    You'll receive an email and in-app notification when an editor submits their work.
  2. Review the Edit:
    Go to Approvals to see the watermarked preview.
  3. Make Your Decision:
    You have three options:
    • Approve: If you're satisfied, approve and proceed to payment
    • Request Revisions: Ask for specific changes
    • Reject: Decline if it doesn't meet requirements (no payment required)
  4. Complete Payment:
    If approved, you'll be redirected to Stripe Checkout to pay securely.
  5. Download Your Image:
    Once payment is complete, download the final unwatermarked image!
Important: Approval is final and non-refundable. Review carefully before approving!

Managing Your Requests

Track all your edit requests from My Requests:

  • Active Requests: Currently being worked on by editors
  • Pending Approval: Edits submitted and awaiting your review
  • Completed: Approved and paid requests
  • Open Requests: Waiting for an editor to claim
Pro Tip: You can cancel open requests (before an editor claims them) if you no longer need the edit.

Becoming an Editor

  1. Create Your Account:
    Register at Sign Up and select "Editor" as your role.
  2. Complete Your Profile:
    Add a professional photo, write a compelling bio highlighting your skills and experience.
  3. Set Up Stripe Connect:
    Complete the Stripe onboarding process to receive payments. Go to Account Settings → "Set Up Payments"
  4. Browse the Queue:
    Visit Edit Queue to see available requests.
  5. Claim Your First Request:
    Find a request that matches your skills and click "Claim Request"
Pro Tip: Start with simpler requests to build your reputation and ratings. As you gain positive reviews, you can tackle more complex (and higher-paying) projects!

Claiming and Completing Requests

  1. Browse Available Requests:
    Go to Edit Queue and filter by category, price, or complexity.
  2. Read Instructions Carefully:
    Make sure you understand what the requester wants before claiming.
  3. Claim the Request:
    Click "Claim Request" - the timer starts immediately!
  4. Download the Original Image:
    Save the image to your computer and begin editing.
  5. Complete Your Edit:
    Use your preferred editing software (Photoshop, GIMP, Affinity Photo, etc.)
  6. Submit Your Work:
    Go to My Claims, find the request, and upload your completed edit.
  7. Wait for Approval:
    The requester will review your work. If approved, payment is processed immediately!
Time Limits: You must complete and submit your edit before the timer expires. If you miss the deadline, the request returns to the queue and may affect your rating.

Building Your Reputation

Your success as an editor depends on maintaining a strong reputation:

Rating System

  • Requesters rate your work after each completed edit
  • Your overall rating affects your visibility in the queue
  • Higher-rated editors get priority placement

Tips for High Ratings

  • Deliver Quality Work: Take your time and ensure clean, professional edits
  • Follow Instructions: Read and follow the requester's specifications exactly
  • Meet Deadlines: Submit your work on time or cancel early if you can't complete it
  • Communicate Professionally: Respond to messages promptly and courteously
  • Be Honest: Don't claim requests beyond your skill level
Pro Tip: Building a portfolio of approved work helps attract more requesters. Enable "Show Recent Work" in your profile settings to showcase your best edits!

Handling Rejections

If a requester rejects your edit:

  • You don't receive payment for that submission
  • The request returns to the queue for others to claim
  • You can claim it again and resubmit if you want to try again
  • Frequent rejections may affect your rating

How to Reduce Rejections

  • Ask clarifying questions before starting if instructions are unclear
  • Use the messaging system to confirm details with the requester
  • Submit high-quality work that addresses ALL requested changes
  • Double-check your work before submitting

How Payments Work

PixLancer uses Stripe for secure payment processing. Here's how it works:

For Requesters

  1. Approve an Edit:
    When you approve an editor's work, you commit to paying.
  2. Stripe Checkout:
    You're redirected to Stripe's secure checkout page.
  3. Enter Payment Details:
    Add your credit/debit card or use saved payment methods.
  4. Payment Processed:
    Funds are immediately transferred to the editor's Stripe Connect account.
  5. Download Your Image:
    Once payment is complete, download the unwatermarked image.

For Editors

  1. Complete Stripe Onboarding:
    Set up your Stripe Connect account from Account Settings
  2. Wait for Approval:
    After submitting your edit, wait for the requester to approve.
  3. Receive Payment:
    When approved, funds are immediately transferred to your Stripe account.
  4. Automatic Payout:
    Stripe transfers funds to your bank account based on your region (typically 2-7 business days).
Security: We never store your full payment details. All payment processing is handled securely by Stripe, a PCI-DSS Level 1 certified processor.

Understanding Fees

Platform Fees

  • Service Fee: $0.25 per transaction
  • Stripe Processing Fee: 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction

Edit Price: $10.00

Stripe Fee: -$0.59 (2.9% + $0.30)

Platform Fee: -$0.25


Editor Receives: $9.16

Transparency: All fees are disclosed upfront before payment. Editors see their net earnings before submitting their work.

Refunds and Disputes

Refund Policy

Important: Approval is final and non-refundable. Once you approve an edit and complete payment, the transaction cannot be reversed.

This policy ensures editors are compensated fairly for their work. Please review edits carefully before approving.

Accidental Approvals

If you accidentally approve an edit:

  • Contact us immediately at support@pixlancer.com
  • Include your order details and explanation
  • We'll review your case and work with the editor to reach a fair resolution
  • Refunds are not guaranteed but will be considered on a case-by-case basis

Dispute Resolution

If there's an issue with an edit:

  • Contact us at support@pixlancer.com before approving
  • Provide details about the problem
  • Our support team will mediate between you and the editor
  • We aim to resolve all disputes fairly within 5 business days

Setting Up Payouts (For Editors)

  1. Navigate to Account Settings:
    Go to Account Settings
  2. Click "Set Up Payments":
    You'll be redirected to Stripe Connect onboarding.
  3. Provide Business Information:
    Enter your business or individual details (name, address, tax ID).
  4. Add Bank Account:
    Enter your bank account details for payouts.
  5. Verify Your Identity:
    Stripe may require identity verification (government ID, etc.).
  6. Complete Onboarding:
    Once approved, you can start receiving payments!
Processing Time: Stripe onboarding typically takes 1-2 business days. You cannot receive payments until onboarding is complete.

Common Issues and Solutions

I can't upload my image. What should I do? +

Possible Solutions:

  • Check file size: Images must be under 10MB
  • Verify format: Only JPG, PNG, and GIF are supported
  • Try a different browser: Chrome, Firefox, or Edge work best
  • Clear browser cache: Clear your cache and cookies, then try again
  • Check internet connection: Ensure you have a stable connection
  • Disable extensions: Ad blockers may interfere with uploads

I'm not receiving email notifications +

Troubleshooting Steps:

  1. Check your spam/junk folder for emails from @pixlancer.com
  2. Verify notifications are enabled in Email Preferences
  3. Make sure your email address is verified in Account Settings
  4. Whitelist @pixlancer.com in your email client
  5. Check that your email address is correct in your profile
My payment failed. How do I fix this? +

Common Reasons for Payment Failures:

  • Insufficient funds: Ensure your card has enough balance
  • Card declined: Contact your bank to authorize the charge
  • Incorrect details: Double-check card number, expiry, and CVV
  • International restrictions: Some banks block international transactions

How to Retry:

  1. Return to the approval page
  2. Click "Approve" again to retry payment
  3. Try a different payment method if the issue persists
I can't see my claimed requests +

Check These Things:

  • Go to My Claims to view all your active claims
  • Check if the claim expired (claims have time limits)
  • Ensure you're logged in to the correct account
  • Refresh the page (CTRL+F5 or CMD+R)

My Stripe onboarding is stuck or failed +

Common Issues:

  • Incomplete information: Ensure all required fields are filled
  • Identity verification: Upload clear photos of your ID
  • Bank account issues: Verify your bank details are correct
  • Regional restrictions: Stripe may not be available in all countries

How to Resolve:

  1. Return to Account Settings
  2. Click "Continue Stripe Onboarding" to resume where you left off
  3. Follow Stripe's instructions carefully
  4. Contact Stripe support if issues persist: Stripe Support
I forgot my password. How do I reset it? +

Password Reset Steps:

  1. Go to the Login Page
  2. Click "Forgot your password?"
  3. Enter your registered email address
  4. Check your inbox for a password reset email
  5. Click the reset link and create a new password
Tip: Reset links expire after 24 hours. If your link expired, request a new one.
The site is loading slowly or not at all +

Quick Fixes:

  • Refresh the page (CTRL+F5 or CMD+SHIFT+R)
  • Clear your browser cache and cookies
  • Try a different browser (Chrome, Firefox, Edge)
  • Check your internet connection speed
  • Disable browser extensions temporarily
  • Try incognito/private browsing mode
