Getting Started

What is PixLancer? +

PixLancer is an online marketplace that connects people who need photo editing services with skilled photo editors. It's a community-driven platform where:

  • Requesters can upload photos and describe the edits they need
  • Editors can browse available requests, claim them, and submit professional edits
  • Payments are processed securely through Stripe after approval

Whether you need a quick background removal, color correction, or advanced retouching, PixLancer makes it easy to get high-quality edits quickly and affordably.

How do I create an account? +

Creating an account is quick and easy:

  • Click Sign Up in the navigation menu
  • Enter your email address and create a secure password
  • Choose your role (Requester, Editor, or both)
  • Verify your email address by clicking the link we send you

Once verified, you can start posting edit requests or claiming work as an editor!

Is PixLancer free to use? +

Creating an account is completely free. However, there are transaction fees when payments are processed:

  • Platform Fee: $0.25 USD per completed transaction
  • Payment Processing Fee: Stripe charges 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction

These fees help us maintain the platform and ensure secure payment processing. All fees are disclosed upfront before payment.

For Requesters (Photo Submitters)

How do I post a photo for editing? +

Posting a photo editing request is simple:

  • Navigate to Post a Request
  • Upload your photo (JPG, PNG, or GIF formats supported)
  • Add a descriptive title for your request
  • Write clear instructions about what edits you need
  • Set your price (how much you're willing to pay)
  • Submit your request to the queue

Once submitted, qualified editors will see your request and can claim it. You'll be notified when an editor starts working on it.

How do I pay for an approved edit? +

Payment is simple and secure:

  • When an editor submits their work, you'll receive a notification
  • Review the submitted edit (you'll see a watermarked preview)
  • If you're happy with it, click "Approve"
  • You'll be redirected to Stripe Checkout to complete payment
  • Once payment is processed, funds are immediately transferred to the editor
  • You'll receive the final, unwatermarked image

Important: Approval is final and non-refundable. Make sure you're satisfied before approving!

What if I don't like the submitted edit? +

If the submitted edit doesn't meet your expectations, you have options:

  • Request Revisions: Ask the editor to make specific changes
  • Reject the Edit: Decline the submission if it doesn't meet your requirements

When you reject an edit, the request returns to the queue for another editor to claim. No payment is required for rejected edits.

Tip: Provide specific feedback when requesting revisions or rejecting edits. This helps editors understand your expectations.

Can I get a refund after approving an edit? +

No, approvals are final and non-refundable. Once you approve an edit and complete payment:

  • Payment is immediately transferred to the editor
  • The transaction cannot be reversed
  • You receive full rights to the edited image

This policy ensures editors are compensated fairly for their work. Please review edits carefully before approving.

If you accidentally approve an edit, contact us at support@pixlancer.com immediately. While we cannot guarantee refunds, we'll review your case and work with the editor to reach a fair resolution.

What types of photo edits can I request? +

PixLancer supports a wide variety of editing requests, including:

  • Background removal or replacement
  • Color correction and grading
  • Retouching and blemish removal
  • Object removal or addition
  • Resizing and cropping
  • Filters and effects
  • Text or logo overlays
  • Photo restoration

Important: Please review our Terms of Service for prohibited content. We have a strict zero-tolerance policy for adult content, copyright violations, and illegal material.

For Editors (Photo Editing Professionals)

How do I become an editor? +

Becoming an editor is easy:

  • Sign up for a PixLancer account
  • Select "Editor" as your role during registration (or add it later in your profile)
  • Complete Stripe Connect onboarding to receive payments
  • Browse the Edit Queue for available requests
  • Claim a request and start editing!

Note: You must complete Stripe Connect onboarding before you can receive payments for approved edits. This process verifies your identity and sets up your payout account.

How do I get paid as an editor? +

Editor payments work as follows:

  • Claim an edit request from the queue
  • Complete the edit and submit it for approval
  • When the requester approves your edit and completes payment at checkout, funds are immediately transferred to your Stripe Connect account
  • Stripe transfers funds to your bank account based on your region (typically 2-7 business days)

Fees: A $0.25 platform fee and Stripe processing fees (2.9% + $0.30) are deducted from each transaction. You'll see your net earnings before submitting your edit.

What happens if my edit is rejected? +

If a requester rejects your submitted edit:

  • You do not receive payment for that submission
  • The request returns to the queue for another editor to claim
  • You can claim the request again and resubmit if you want
  • Your editor rating may be affected by rejections

Tip: Read the edit instructions carefully and communicate with requesters if anything is unclear. High-quality work leads to more approvals and better ratings!

Is there a time limit to complete edits? +

Yes, when you claim an edit request, you have a limited time to complete and submit your work (the time limit is set by the requester, typically 2-4 hours).

If you don't submit your edit before the timer expires:

  • The request automatically returns to the queue
  • You won't be able to submit your edit after expiration
  • Your editor rating may be affected by missed deadlines

Tip: Only claim requests you're confident you can complete within the time limit. Quality matters more than speed!

Can I cancel a claimed request? +

Yes, you can cancel a claimed request from your My Claims page before submitting your edit.

When you cancel:

  • The request returns to the queue immediately
  • Both you and the requester receive notifications
  • Frequent cancellations may affect your editor rating

Note: Try to only claim requests you intend to complete. Canceling too often can harm your reputation on the platform.

Payment & Billing

What payment methods do you accept? +

PixLancer uses Stripe for secure payment processing. We accept:

  • All major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover)
  • Digital wallets (Apple Pay, Google Pay, where available)
  • Bank transfers (depending on your region and Stripe availability)

Important: We do not store your full card details on our servers. All payment information is securely handled by Stripe, a PCI-DSS compliant payment processor.

What are the platform fees? +

PixLancer charges the following fees:

  • Platform Service Fee: $0.25 USD per completed transaction
  • Stripe Payment Processing Fee: 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction

These fees are deducted from the transaction amount. For example:

  • Edit price: $10.00
  • Stripe fee: $0.59 (2.9% + $0.30)
  • Platform fee: $0.25
  • Editor receives: $9.16

All fees are disclosed upfront and clearly shown before payment.

When will I receive my payout as an editor? +

Payout timing depends on your location and Stripe's policies:

  • When a requester approves your edit and completes payment, funds are immediately transferred to your Stripe Connect account
  • Stripe then transfers funds to your bank account based on your region's payout schedule
  • Typical payout times: 2-7 business days after receiving funds in your Stripe account

You can view your payout schedule and transaction history in your Account Settings or Stripe Dashboard.

Is my payment information secure? +

Yes, your payment information is completely secure.

  • All payments are processed through Stripe, a PCI-DSS Level 1 certified payment processor
  • We never store your full credit card numbers or bank account details on our servers
  • All transactions are encrypted using industry-standard SSL/TLS encryption
  • Stripe's fraud detection systems monitor all transactions for suspicious activity

Account & Safety

What content is prohibited on PixLancer? +

PixLancer has a zero-tolerance policy for the following content:

  • Adult Content: Nudity, sexually explicit content, pornography, or sexually suggestive material
  • Child Exploitation: Any content exploiting minors (CSAM)
  • Violence: Graphic violence, gore, or disturbing imagery
  • Hate Speech: Discriminatory, harassing, or hateful content
  • Copyright Violations: Removing watermarks, editing copyrighted images without permission
  • Illegal Content: Content promoting illegal activities, terrorism, or fraud
  • Deepfakes: Misleading manipulated media intended to deceive

Violating these policies will result in immediate and permanent account termination without warning or refund.

How do I report inappropriate content or users? +

If you encounter prohibited content, abusive behavior, or policy violations:

  • Immediate Action: Do not engage with the content or user
  • Report It: Email abuse@pixlancer.com with:
    • Description of the violation
    • Link to the content or user profile
    • Screenshots (if applicable)
  • We Review Promptly: Our team investigates all reports within 24 hours

For editors: If you receive a request containing prohibited content, do NOT accept it. Report it immediately to abuse@pixlancer.com.

How do I delete my account? +

To delete your account:

  • Navigate to your Account Settings
  • Scroll to the "Delete Account" section
  • Click "Request Account Deletion" and confirm

Alternatively, email privacy@pixlancer.com with your deletion request.

What happens when you delete your account:

  • Your profile and public content will be removed
  • Personal information will be anonymized or deleted
  • Outstanding payments will be processed
  • Some data may be retained for legal compliance or dispute resolution

What if I forget my password? +

Resetting your password is easy:

  • Go to the Login page
  • Click "Forgot your password?"
  • Enter your registered email address
  • Check your email for a password reset link
  • Click the link and create a new password

Technical Support

What file formats are supported? +

PixLancer currently supports the following image formats:

  • JPG / JPEG - Most common format for photos
  • PNG - Best for images with transparency
  • GIF - Animated images (note: animations may not be preserved in edits)

File Size Limits: Maximum upload size is typically 10MB per image. Contact support if you need to upload larger files.

Recommended: Upload high-resolution images for best editing results. Editors will deliver edits in the same format you uploaded unless you specify otherwise.

I'm having trouble uploading my photo. What should I do? +

If you're experiencing upload issues, try these troubleshooting steps:

  • Check file size: Make sure your image is under 10MB
  • Verify format: Only JPG, PNG, and GIF files are supported
  • Try a different browser: Some browsers handle uploads better than others
  • Clear cache: Clear your browser cache and cookies, then try again
  • Check internet connection: Slow or unstable connections can cause upload failures
  • Disable browser extensions: Ad blockers or security extensions may interfere with uploads

Why can't I see my notifications? +

If notifications aren't appearing:

  • Check email settings: Go to Email Preferences and ensure notifications are enabled
  • Check spam folder: Our emails might be filtered as spam
  • Whitelist our domain: Add @pixlancer.com to your email contacts
  • Verify email address: Make sure your email is verified in Account Settings
  • Check in-app notifications: Click the bell icon in the navigation bar
